Evan came home yesterday. He'll be here for a week. Luckily, Bethany has Spring Break this week, too, so she and Evan can hang out before Brett takes over the afternoon schedule. Evan enjoys coming home, but he did complain that this 70-degree weather is quite uncomfortable for his 90-degree Houston sensibilities. We made Evan his favorite dinner, Burrito Casserole, but he fell asleep pretty early and missed out. Apparently the workout and basketball games that Brett convinced him to join in on, along with getting up early for the flight, did him in. I told Evan that five years ago, this wouldn't have been a problem for him - so, basically, he's getting old!
Great news! The University of Houston, though not making it to the NCAA tournament - or even the NIT, which even surprised me - did manage to make the YMCA tournament (or whatever it's called). Evan found out early in the afternoon that their first game was tonight in Reno, so he and Bethany hopped in the old Camry and took off. I don't like to think of them driving in the mountains, but my attempts at getting them to stay home were totally dismissed. Houston won by one, so I guess this has been a great day.
I'm posting the layout that I've been working on for the Scrap a Page Challenge at Mo Jackson's place (click on photo for a larger view). Aunt Tookie's salad recipe is a favorite of ours. We fix it quite often, not just at Easter. Also, I don't remember for a fact eating this when I was a little girl, but I'd like to think I did. Bethany made the salad this time - it turned out perfectly. She is not good about taking advice when she's cooking! I wonder where she learned that?
